Are you interested in meeting other attendees who are cosplaying from the same anime, comic book, TV show or video game as you?
Host a cosplay meetup for your fandom! Cosplay meetups are attendee-led events where you can chat, take pictures and celebrate your fandom together. Meetups are great for making new friends, too! The designated cosplay meetup space, the Cosplay Courtyard, is easy to find and pictured below.

Cosplay Meetup FAQs
How does hosting a meetup work?
Apply using the form here. Host applications for each fandom are on a first come, first served basis with preference given to those with hosting experience. All cosplay meetups will be run by one or two designated hosts. Please check the schedule above to see which meetups have already been approved and added.
Where is the meetup location?
All official cosplay meetups will be held in the Cosplay Courtyard, pictured below! There will be a sign to designate the meetup space. In case of rain, meetups will be held on the second floor of the civic building.
What do I do during my cosplay meetup?
You can organize photoshoots for groups and/or specific characters or just chat about your fandom! Keep in mind that these events are run by you, so you’re free to do anything as long as you adhere to the convention’s policies.
May I continue our meetup past the assigned time?
Sure, that’s fine with us! All we ask is that you be respectful of those who have time slots other than yours and move your meetup to another spot when your time is up.
May I sign up with a friend or two to co-host?
Of course! Please note on the form if you know the people you want to host with.
Do I need to purchase a Hanacon badge to host?
Yes. We do not offer comped badges for hosts, so please make sure you will be able to purchase an attendee badge before applying. Find out more about badges here.
May I advertise my meetup separately?
Of course! If you create a Facebook event page, please link it back to Hanacon's page.
